09/01 Slave to My Spouse
Quote From: afnavymomEver heard of Merry Maids for the love of Mike? Day Care centers? Shared responsibility? Working with your strengths? Golly, people need to take a breath now and again. Arthritis? I have arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and a host of related problems. I do what I can and don't worry about the rest. No way on earth is this couple's problem about housework or checkbooks, or any of the other outward excuses, These people lack respect for themselves and their children. YES! Thank you, Jesus. How can they even HAVE a conversation about this without the subject of a housekeeper coming up? Good lord, I have no kids but I have always had goals that did not include more than a modicum of housekeeping. I am far from lazy. I work two jobs most of the time. My philosophy has always been to try to enjoy life and not do things I deplore. Yes, I empty the trash, do laundry, keep the kitchen neat and try not to make a mess, but when it's time for a day-long cleaning, I call a housekeeper. And I would never allow anyone to tell me what I had to do in that regard, and shame on her husband for trying to denegrate her in front of the kids. Bravo to her for showing them that she is nobody's servant. Stand your ground, Terri!! It's the 21st Century all you sleepy folks out there. Women in the workplace, childbearing optional -- housework: optional. What a wonderful time to be alive!
