Sounds Like Me
Quote From: hallelujah316This is the first time logging in to drphil.com I already feel like the Lord brought me here to get some good fellowship with other former alcaholics. I realize I have a problem but am finding it next to impossible to break the routine of drinking. I feel really helpless and sad when I "have" to go home after work and not stop by a friends house for a beer or two which leads to six or seven and get home drunk. Do you have any advice on how you broke the cycle once you realized you were acting like....an ass? Thanks, i appreciate any help The end of your work day sounds very much like mine - I have a good job and never drink during the day - however, my routine over the past three years has been that as soon as I get home from work, I begin to drink and am usually drunk by 7 or 8:00. I just can't seem to break the routine of going home, having a "few" cocktails and going about my after work household chores. My drinking is not interfering with my job or my family life, but is becoming a problem with my weight since I don't eat dinner until 8 or 9:00 becasue I am too busy drinking before then. How ever do you break the routine and get into a more healty, productive lifestyle?
