THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT. IF I MESS THIS ONE UP THE ALTERNATIVE IS UP TO 12 YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, THAT IS IF I DONT GET ANOTHER CASE! I WAS TOLD THAT CHILD PROTECTION FUNDS THIS PROGRAM BUT WHEN I SPOKE WITH THEM I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD ONLY PAY FOR IT IF YOU HAVE AN OPEN CASE OR ARE FIGHTING FOR CUSTUDY OF YOUR CHILDREN. I DONT KNOW WHY THEY WONT HELP BEFORE IT GETS TO THAT POINT. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH RESOURCES FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT CHANGING THEIR LIVES. I AM RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS, TIME AND PATIENTS. I DONT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO TURN!!!!
If you can afford rent you can afford sober living. There are many sober living homes that allow you to bring your kids along. Just make sure you find one that's for women and children. Also you didn't say weather you were going to Narcotics Anonymous. It's free (well they usually want a buck or so a meeting, but no one will kick you out if you can't pay) and probably the best help you can get.
I don't mean to sound harsh but you obviously have enough money to obtain your drugs. I am a recovering addict and alcoholic who thought I couldn't afford treatment either. I started going to AA and got a sponsor. She told me to figure out how much I was spending on booze and drugs. Well it came to over a grand a month. I started into an out patient program which was $250.00 a month for three months. I contintue to attend AA and work a 12-step program and by the grace of God will be sober 1 year on September 29, 2005.
