Not married, not going to get married but have a life partner

He has had 2 failed marriages, and told me up front that he didn't want to get married again. That does NOT mean we will not have a commitment ceremony in the future. But to be legally married we don't see the reason for it. We are committed to each other, to our love, and to our family.
When i see people that are married crazy i ask the why? Is it because you think that commitment will stop the other person's bad habits? Is it because you want to feel more secure? Do they want to spend the money for a bitg wedding/dream wedding?
Yes there are some legal reasons to being married, but at the same time you can still have the same rights as married people by drafting wills, and other legal documents.
