Did you know that there is a bi-polar board here (?)...

Quote From: pinetree

My wife and daughter both suffer from bipolar disorder and  my son generalized anxiety disorder.

My son has just recently over his GAD, but my wife and daughter have a long way to go.  I have studied these illnesses extensively over the past five years attempting to sort out fact from fiction.

I believe I have been relatively successful, but could use some help evaluating what I have found.

As as result I would like to set up an on-line support group for anxiety disorders and mental illness.

My son and wife and I have attended a local support group for anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder and found them very helpful.

If you are interested would you please e-mail me at : rowdens@shaw.ca

Just click on MENTAL HEALTH on the "main message board page" then click on BI-POLAR. That board could use more who support it. Perhaps, since listed under mental health people don't want to post there. Maybe each diagnosis should be listed individually although I think done this way to allow privacy or so web page not clogged up. More people would likely visit if each diagnosis was listed on Message Board Page. As well, likely would make many not feel so alone and like they should hide their condition. I know a person so depressed about diagnosis that often considers suicide and I have seen MANY others express the same dismay in equal intensity. Maybe you could be a bright spot on that board...should you want to... Yes, likely conditions should just be listed individually on main message board page so people don't feel like they have to hide their diagnosis. Yet, many counselors suggest not being up front with employers when applying for work simply because of the stigma. We've come a long way wtih "mental health" and still have a long way to go. Here is the bi-polar link for here.
