I know how you feel, I dont get along with my mil, but this is by her choice. She is always trying to make trouble between my husband and I. Im the type who doesnt like to let things slide and just get over it , however I'm lucky because my husband can just shrug it off and not think twice about it. To him my daughter and I are more important as we are his family, the way he looks at things are his parents have their lives and we have ours and as long as we are together and happy then no one can come between us. To him he doesnt care about what they want or what they say. He just thinks of it as hes lucky to have a wife and child who love him very much.
I think you husband should make a compromise and think of his family first , and maybe come to some kind of deal where you can visit on holidays or they come visit you.
