11/06 The Lie Detector

Quote From: indiana2010

I am glad that somebody is trying to help this little girl, but I have to disagree with Dr. Phil on one aspect.  CPS does not always do what they are supposed to...they don't necessarily jump to the aid of a child that may need help.  I live in Indiana and know personally of an instance where my mother-in-law called CPS on my sister-in-law on two seperate occasions for leaving her kids unattended while she and her husband ran around for hours on end.  On both occasions, they said they would investigate, but they never even contacted anyone in the family.  Also, my mom once worked in our local school system with mentally handicapped children.  As is true with any child, if one of the kids said they were being touched inappropriately at home, they contacted the proper authorities.  Most generally the response from CPS was that if they took the kids away from their family and put them in foster care, they would probably be molested there too, and it was better to just leave them where they were at.  I know it probably sounds like I live in a bad area where we might have a high crime rate, but it might interest you to know that the city I am referring to was just ranked the 11th safest city to live in here in the United States!
Amen! Indiana CPS is a joke. I was told by a CPS worker that she believes mothers on crack are some of the best mothers they have ever seen. I say A person on crack (or any other kind of drug) is only worried about their next high, and not their child. Drugs have priority over well being of the children. Dr. Phil shouldn't make such a broad generalization about CPS. Of course, if he was looking over their shoulder, the decisions made by CPS were surely influenced by him and his cameras.

dealing with the system

..Most people don't know that if you suspect that your child has been molested that you must report that to the authotities...Now here lies the problem..if your child is acting out or has said that someone has molested them you are responsible  to report that or you run a high risk of being negligent and losing custody. The system never tells you that after reporting you can still lose custody...even if there is physical evidence as well as psychological evidence..Also what the system does not tell you is there is no uniform measure of evidence from case to case... that is why so many cases differ in the quality of evidence....there are moms who lose custody even if they have photos of the abuse, physical evidence of the abuse,, the child has venereal  diseases..etc...As in this case there was physical evidence that in of itself should have launched an investigation....the mom and the grandmother were not acting hysterical they truly believe the child to have been molested and they know that the system is doing nothing:How would you act Dr.Phil if that were your child? I am a protective mom who lost custody to an alleged abuser many years ago.....for five years after he got custody I did not know where my children were....when I finally found them one was in a mental institution and the other was seriously  neglected.....I too was told that I was hysterical....delusional .....and an alienator I am none of those things....my children had a childhood from hell thanks to court corruption  and a hidden scam within the evil alliance of child protection services and the family court ....An industry exists to keep social workers, lawyers and others gainfully employed at the expense of innocent children and their pleading moms......to be sure there are fathers who have been falsely accused but when you look at the fabric of evidence in those cases you see a world of difference.......Protective moms across this country are tired of Dr. Phil calling protective moms hysterical. We have a right to be hysterical when our children are being handed over to their abusers. Around the country the first generation of children handed over to their abusers are coming of age. Many of them who have found their way to their mothers homes are  terribly traumatized..many of them are now on medication..and even when they reach out to mom they are acting out  twenty years of misery on the protective side of the family....many of these victims are violent with their protective moms...and you see Dr. Phil the protective moms who gave it their all to fight for their children  now have to take that abuse to save their children....the fathers in these cases got away with everything. Many of these fathers when on to have other families :other children to abuse...the good folks in the system remain silent : whistleblowers are punished....How do we stop the system from making money on the backs of our abused children?

Yes I am glad you posted this because you are right about CPS. Unfortynately lots of child fall through the cracks because CPS does not invesitagate or does very little invesitagation. Dr. Phil should know that with his background and public life that of course he hasnt met those "bad CPS workers.
