So true

Quote From: swampwitch

Dr. Phil has a lot of trust in CPS,I have none.My child was 7 years old when he was raped by a cousin, who was 18 years old.My son went to the school and told a counselor, she believed him.She called the state police, they believed him. They called the CPS.But CPS talked to the man who raped my son. Then they told us they did not believe it happened because the man said he didn't do it.I could not believe what they were telling me.I said "of course he is going to say he didn't do it,they always say that."But CPS said they usually admit it.IF it happened after they think they are caught.I called my state rep.Thank God he wasen't stupid. To make a long story short, after the investigation, this man had not just raped my child,he had raped two others. He was sent to prison for 10 years, not long enough, but it beat the hell out of NOTHING.Don't have so much trust in CPS,they are just people too. Some are just drawing the pay for as little work as they can.But I do think there are some who really try to make a difference, wish there were more.
Thanks for sharing ... I too know that the system has major cracks and flaws. True many are there for the paycheck only and no more and aren't properly trained to see things clearly and don't want to really deal with the truth either.

I have a son that was telling me things that his "best friend" was having him do.  We had a long talk and we explained what was right and wrong.  My son was in 3rd grade at the time.  He started telling me things that his friend said was going on in his home.  His friend said that his Grandpa (which he lives with), and 2 other cousins have improperly handled him.  I called CPS, they said they would investigate.  Nothing ever happened!  I don't have a lot of faith!

Like so many others, CPS did not follow through with my situation. When my son was three, he came back from playing with his eight year old cousin and started describing to me some very explicit sexual activities. I was horrified about how this could happen. I called CPS right away. I was very sad for my nephew. I knew that to do this to another child, he had to have been molested himself. I wanted him to get help. CPS investigated and said that they belived the claims made by my son were true. I was expected my Nephew to get help from CPS. Instead they just visited his parents who were in denial and suggested they get him help. They did not even persue who hadmolested him. The parents decided that he did not need help, and to this day he has had none, and he has also done this to other children since then. CPS had good intenions, but they did not have the authority needed to help these children. It is a sad truth, but i want Dr. Phill to see thatproblems in the system do exist, and it does not mean you as the parent are to blame! Please Dr. Phill, consider the other side!

I can't believe Dr. Phil was getting on this girl about CPS.  I just read recenlty about a young child that had been seen several months before he or she passed away from being starved to death.  I hear more often than I would like about CPS leaving children behind and not getting their job done like they are suppose to.

I was extremely mad at Dr. Phil for not trying to see her side of the story because of her accusations towards CPS.  I completely agree with her...CPS doesn't always do their job and Dr. Phil needs to wake up and realize that!!!

I have to agree with you. My little girl was taken by cps 3 yaers ago because my 1 year old drowned in the bath tub. they said we neglected our kids by leaving them with a 16 year old baby sitter. They made me and my husband separate and then told me not to have contact with for no reason. Then they took my 2 year old thats now 5. She was put in a foster where the foster dad has sexually abused her and we have evidence but cps wouldnt listen. Now they are trying to adopt her since they blacked maled us into giving up our rights. the foster parents hired an attorney and interviened in the case. I need some advise on what to do now i cant just sit back and let them do this to her. PLEASE HELP MY LITTLE GIRL
