We all fall down

Quote From: dbldzz

I always thought that I was the most gullable person I've ever known, but come on people, when would Dr. Phil or Robin request money for their services?  Unless I was invited to have a personal one on one with him or Robin for counselling I would think twice before ever sending money!  Sorry no sympathy here.
Just because you were miss lead does not make you the most gullable person in the world and con artist are good at what they do and seem so real just be more careful next time

And, when would two such busy people have time to spend hours on the phone, "counselling" people? Not only do they spend a lot of time preparing for, and taping, his show, they're also in demand on the speaking circuit. Especially since Robin's book has been released.

Umm well you can critique the people with problems reaching

out from home but even Dr. Phil and Robin state how shocked

they was?  The scam is happening all over, whereever the lazy

low lifes can find a place or people to scam!

It was enevitable it happen to yes, even Dr. Phil.

Please before you get on a critique wagon, remember

that it is vulnerable people with older people the biggest numbers

who don't use internet and other means on communication that is

easiest to scam.

Also it is trusting people!  Trust aint gullable, its what should be

a given just so happens it aint.

No need to be THAT hard on yourself, I think all of us ( yes even those who call others stupid and losers ) have had moments of gullibility in their lives, it happens, but I do agree, people have to STOP and THINK, especially when the request exceeds or is equal to their monthly income. Unfortunatly, desparate people do desparate things, and the overly kind hearted prone to the sob stories of others, well they can't see through their tears, like I pointed out before, these con-artists are GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO!  How else would they be able to convince a person to empty their savings .

My own story, and I didn't get bilked out of much, a woman and child on a street corner beside their car, that looked as though it contained all their worldly belongings, begging, well I gave her ten dollars and walked away feeling pretty good about that ( I fall under the kind hearted category ), Anyway, imagine my surprise when on the next block I saw the same woman in the liquor store purchasing a bottle of booze, the child strapped into the car, from then on I gave directly to the charities that HELP people in need, not to them, am I bitter, not really, but wiser and ten bucks poorer.

06/14 Dr. Phil Scam, Part 2: The Sting

I have no knowledge if Dr. Phil or Robin charge for tickets, and/or live appearances, or not.

However for someone to say "Sorry no sympathy here" shows very little compassion to me. I am positive that the people that did actually "fall for this" were desperate and seeking help!   Reaching out for help.   The people that seek out Mediums like John Edwards .... searching for something/anything in an attempt to help them through rough times of losing a loved one would do almost anything they could think of and they DO pay for tickets to see him at a live event.

I guess it all depends upon what you would do to try to find some peace of mind in that what you are seeking. Me pay to see/hear or speak to Dr. Phil, Robin, or John Edwards? No. I would not do that, but I would never underestimate anyone that has done so, (or "fell for this"), or what they would do to try to ease their pain.

Don't critize until you have walked in someone elses shoes.
