I changed my computer over and I have been lost ever since. Add to that a really rotten week at work and I have had it!
We had a bad storm that wiped out two thirds of my stock. Insurance is still deciding if it was an act of God so they don't have to pay.
A woman I don't know rang me at the shop for an hour because she was so depressed and she needed someone to talk to. Don't we all know how that feels, I just had to listen until she felt better.
One of my favourite customers who finally got pregnant with a donor egg lost her baby.
Then I had a man ring me and buy baby boy clothes from birth to age 5. I asked him why he was buying so far ahead when his son isn't due until next January. He told me he wanted his only child to have the best and he was dying of cancer. He was so upbeat and happy. So I stayed the same until I hung up the phone.
That was the last straw, I went out the door, locked the shop, burst into tears and went for a walk. My shop is my happy place but it didn't feel like it this week.
I rang that man back today to give him his total. The cheery man was out buying his son a mini electric guitar. He is so full of happiness and peace.
At least I know I have many Blessings to count.
