I'm dealing with a huge stray cat problem as well, thanks to a couple of elderly people who put out food (but allow them to roam, unfixed).  Each spring & fall, I break out the livetraps and do my level best to eliminate as many of the "breeders" as possible by hauling them all to the nearest humane society since we do not have animal control in my area.   One bite or scratch and I'm placing myself at real risk for rabies and lord knows what other kinds of nasty things these varmints carry...  They're dangerous to handle (feral & every bit as nasty as a bobcat), carry all kinds of diseases, and unfortunately most (if not all) of them are euth'd as they're wild and unadoptable.

It's not a fun job, but otherwise my yard becomes a fetid litterbox, and I get to deal with caterwauling, roadkilled kittens & toms spraying every surface of my house (including backing up to my doors & windows and spraying INside- yuk)...not to mention the predation on area wildlife.  Even my garage is a minefield- and have you ever have a tomcat get inside your car and spray?  Yeah- THAT smell comes out real easy...

Here's the bottom line:  The neighbors have every right to remove nuisances from their property- and this includes unwanted tresspassing animals.

If the cat hoarder was truly responsible, she'd make EVERY effort to ensure 100% that each and every animal is on HER property at all times.   Once they start leaving her property and begin free-roaming the neighborhood, all bets are off.

rabies from a cat come on get real now if a animal has rabies you wont have to worry about trapping it, lol  it will trap you and also there are laws that say you do not have the wright to remove your neighbors animals from your property you have animal controll do it of you have the police go and inform the owner there animal has strayed, get real now, if you are so scared of getting something from a cat you wouldnt even be putting your self in harms wat to start with, your just trying to ease your guilty sole for getting rid of a elderly couples cats, thats down rite mean shame on you,!!!!! rabies  hahahahahaha get real
