After watching the video this week I came up with an entirely different opinion of things. The child was not scared, but seemed excited until the mom started talking how she didn't want her to go but she had to. Children want to please their parents. I think the comment someone made about how the initial questions may not have been handled right and has led to a huge misunderstanding. I don't know if any parent would know how to correctly question, but you have to try to let the child talk, not ask the child because most of the time they will just answer it with the response you asked them about. I've seen this before:
The kitty cried. The kitty died? Yes. Who's kitty died. Mine. I didn't know you had a kitty. Yep. It died. (real tears) Mom says you don't have a kitty. Oh. So it didn't die. Ok. (back to playing, no tears)
Now maybe you can understand why it is important to get the truth.
