I hope you got to see the show, because it showed her mother and (I think ) aunt speaking very eloquently about the situation...and clearly trying to intervene so the child (and his mother) would get help. With the wonderful Dr. Frank on board along with his protege Dr. Phil, ANYTHING good is possible for this mother and son and family now!
I, for sure, would never have considered that heavy metals in his home or school or town might be affecting that boy's brain as much as his mother's psychological abuse has been doing. It would be wonderful to see a success story come out of this - and lovely for the mother, son, grandmother, and other relative to feel happy and joyful with each other...and grateful that they're in each other's life.
Besides, how many of us remember what homework we did, or what we learned in school? As Dr. Phil even said on a recent show ...he hated every moment of school. And I learned to read BEFORE I went there.
