No, I do not live in that area but it really isn't a stretch to think I would not want her being a teacher with that material out there for purchase & being purchased still. I would not want an10 years-clean alcoholic driving my son's school bus or a former felon as my banker... or a former pill-popper as my surgeon... ect.
It is sad that she went down the path she chose at that age. But she chose it. I've had hard times in my life, much like the ones she used as her reason for doing the videos, but I chose different & live with the consequences of them. Why should she not? Because it was 10 years ago? That doesn't make the tapes any less access able today. She was of age to do them & made the choice realizing they would exist.

Teaching is one of the hardest jobs out there. I am very happy the Ms. Dye was able to turn her life around; however, I can't believe that while in college she didn't forsee the posssiblity of this outcome. I agree with every comment you made, and I would not be comfortable with an ex-porn star teaching my children either. Kids tend to choose the path that's easiest, and I wouldn't want a student to go down this path thinking they could turn their life around because their teacher was able to. I think Ms. Dye is rare and has accomplished a lot and if she would like to continue teaching perhaps she should continue her education and teach at a college.
