Now that's what I call a fair and direct question. Unfortunately it doesn't apply here. Let me explain. A few years ago I had to spend a length of time at home following surgery and radiation therapy. I had nothing I could do but watch TV. I happened to catch a trial on Court TV. Believe me, I had the chance to see the entire trail. During the course of the prosecutor's presentation of the case, he questioned a witness under direct. The witness was supposed to testify against the accused. To the surprise of the DA, the witness said his written statements were coerced by both the local police and the DA's office. Under both direct and cross, he firmly established the truth of his allegations. The assistant DA even conceded that he had, in effect and with the help of two police officers, blackmailed the witness into giving false testimony. So, you see my help was not needed. I doubt if I could have done anything in my condition anyway.
As I said though, it was a fair question. Sorry about the boring answer.
