Wonder? Concern? Think sense!

Quote From: spland30

Why is everyone quoting criime rates. The issue is not crime rates... the issue is a cover-up by the Aruba government in the disappearance in Natalee. Stay on the issue!

Americans are not boycotting Aruba because of it's crime rate. It's boycotting Aruba because the Aruban governement has "failed" to do its job.

Does it make you feel good that the Aruban authorities originally tried to blame this on a couple poor people for Natalees disappearance? In fact Beth (an American) had to come out publicly to tell Aruban authorities that they had the wrong people.

Does it make you wonder when the suspects admit that a crime took place, but they are later released?

Does it make you wonder when Aruban courts place no travel restrictions on possible murder suspercts?

Does it concern you that Aruban authorities have not yet found Natlalee on a tiny island?

Does it concern you that Aruban authorities freed Joron when the American media was focused on New Orleans?

What is Aruba trying to hide?

The Aruban government doesn't have anything to cover up. The job description for the Aruban police is "solve crimes", not "solve crimes within a ridiculously short period of time". The Aruban government has had their reasons to hold those people in custody, just as they had their reasons to hold Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers in custody. And those people were released not because Beth told them to. They were released because there was no evidence. There still is no evidence. Isn't it quite probable and obvious that a crime took place? I see a lot of people on here talk about a crime taking place. Should all of you be suspects now? If the suspects are not allowed to leave the kingdom, I call that a travel restriction. You won't find me on the tiny island of Aruba. The simple reason is that I'm not there. Apparently, Natalee is not there either. When the world media was focused on New Orleans, the maximum of a three month period in custody without charges expired. Quite simple. Aruba is not trying to hide anything. Oh and when was the last time the US government used fighterjets with infrared cameras to locate missing people? When was the last time in the US someone was convicted of murder without a body found? And just how difficult is it in some of the US's southern states, like Alabama, to put the blame for a crime on a black man, if you are white? If this case would be reason for Americans to boycott Aruba, then the rest of the world should consider if they still want anything to do with the US, because from an economical point of view it is just too dangerous to have American citizens within their borders. Something might happen to them. Better to take preventive action then, right?
