I keep hearing the statistics of the low rate of crime in Aruba. One must remember that those are only the "reported" and "proved" stats. After seeing the ongoing mistakes made by the government whether it be lack of experience or coverup, we really don't know what the correct stats are. Also, we already know that crimes go on with the "turn of the heads of the local government," because of Carlos & Charlies admitting Juren as a minor and serving him liquor. The youngster also has a line of credit at the local casinos and gambles freely. These are all known facts, proved, and accepted in Aruba. So, we really don't know what goes on there, ie. what goes on in Aruba stays in Aruba? This is not the first "disappearance" of a young girl on the island. With that said, I certainly would not be sending my children or advising other young girls to go to Aruba for fear that they would become another unreported or unproved statistic. Nice people or not, its just not worth it. My heart goes out to Natalee's family and I pray for them often.
