Not necessarily. It's not unheard of when a couple goes through marriage therapy just so one or both can say, "We tried." Maybe he's so egocentric that he believed Dr. Phil would have seen his situation differently. Maybe he truly has no real regard for the consequences of his behavior.
People do many things for a multitude of reasons, even the things that look "right" but is done for the "wrong" reasons..
