 Yes, I have had a few panic attacks. My mother has had several. It has many factors, but the main one that triggers them is stress. When you feel overloaded, depressed, and just plain stressed, then a panic attack is more likely to occur. This happens at different levels and is different for everyone. Before trying any medications or "at home" remidies, I would talk to your doctor, and tell him/her how you feel during an attack, both physically and mentally, and the frequency of these attacks. Answer as truthfully as possible, and don't leave out any details, even if you think they are meaningless. Your doctor knows both you and your family history, and will be able to help you control these. Some studies show that someone with a family history of panic attacks, and/or depression is at a higher risk for panic attacks. You may have therapy, medicine, or you may only need stress management. You may have these for the rest of your life, though not as frequent, or they may go away with time. You are not alone in this. If you need to talk to someone, I am here to support you and to listen. I am not a doctor or a therapist, but I am a good listener. You have people who care about you, even if you can't see it right now.

What a lot of people do to help them manage their stress is they write things down. You may want to keep a journal, or just write down the problems you are having, and have a friend help you write some possible solutions to them. You may want to write just your feelings down, too. But for every negative feeling, try to write down something (after you are done) positive, like something that happened, or something good about yourself or a situation. This may help you or may not, but you can always try, right? Don't worry about things so much. Things can and will get better.

On another note, I would like to pray for the hurricane victims, and all the homeless and starving people in our nation. I pray that God watches over everyone in America, and the world.

I also need prayer: I currently have financial troubles (don't we all?), my kitties are sick, my mom just broke one of her teeth, I have had very little sleep in weeks, my parents are stressed, and my fiancee has low blood pressure and doesn't eat much at his house (not a lot of food). I know that God will help me and those around me, but I also need prayer to balance these stressing things with college, home chores, job hunting, taking care of pets, and spending the small time left over with my fiancee.
