03/26 The Dr. Phil House: Teen Intervention Follow-Up

Quote From: lapine403

I think the Aunt should have been left out of the entire Dr. Phil House thing.  Nearly everything she had to say had "I" in there somehow.  "I'm just so happy that I got the help that I knew my niece needed".  Her very presence was pretty distracting and detrimental to the mother/daughter/grandmother getting help.  Dr. Phil's staff should just have politely thanked Enza for the initial contact info and proceeded without her.  I'm glad the mother & grandmother aren't interested in a relationship with her and I hope that the teenaged girl steers clear of her fame-hungry aunt, at least until she's on solid ground.

The fact that the aunt didn't contact the girl while she was in therapy (when there were no cameras present) speaks volumes about the kind of person she is... and I'm glad the girl seemed to "get" that fact.

I noticed that the girl was much more talkative and self-confident than when she was in the house.  She looked great, I hope she keeps on that path.

I agree.  Enza served no purpose other than to get her 15 minutes of fame.  I think she was embarrassing when she was speaking in the kitchen about Alex's mom being with men.

It only looked as if the aunt wanted to be the center of attention and really didn't care about Alex, or she would not have spoken so crued in front of the child.

Alex is a child and needs help before it is too late for her.  I think Dr. Phil did a great thing by sending this young woman to the acadamy. She just annoys me to no end.  I wanted to tell her to shut up and give it a rest so many times.  She just wanted to be on TV and take credit. Ms. Me, Me , Me, What a phony !!

Grandmother should move out.  She is not a plus to the situation.  She is an added problem.

I hope Alex and her mom get the help they need to have a normal healthy life and the relationship that young girls need.  The mom seems to be truly willing to do what it takes.

And here is why. I think Enza is a great example of how toxic and disruptive one person can really be! She needed to be on the show to demonstrate to Dr. Phil how bad she really is and to allow Dr. Phil to reinforce the idea of keeping Enza away and out of the picture. I really believe Kim needed that reinforcement from Dr. Phil.

I think that it was great to see how well Alex is doing. I hope that she continues to thrive and I believe she will be a much better person for having had this experience. I think that she will really become something great. I do think, however, that unless things continue to improve with her mom and other issues it will be a big struggle for Alex.

Grandma Jeannette needs to move and become the grandmother. She is not the parent of the those kids and should have never been put in that situation. Yes, PUT in that situation. Kim allowed, and probably even wanted that to happen at times. She now needs to focus on parenting her own children no matter what the cost. I think that Grandma does deserve some Kudos because I have no doubt Kim has problems and having Grandma there to look after the kids to see to their safety was convenient for her. I really think that it's time for Kim to tell her mother that and that she appreciated and now she will step up. Time to get it together Kim. You have shown so far, I think, that you can but now you gotta go all the way.

Good luck to all of you.

Please be careful with your choices as I believe that, at least, Alex's life depends on it!

The Aunt would have been left out completely and so would everyone else if the Aunt didn't contact this show.  Alex would probably have caught some disease and everyone would be oblivious.
