Thank God for people like you
Quote From: flthomcatI really feel sad for the kind of people who are so NOT at peace in this world that they feel the compulsion to call attention to themselves. People who are confident and happy feel no need to stand out in this way. They help others (volunteer, donate, take care of their elderly parents, etc) and do so quietly. They are happy enough with themselves that they don't need to be pumped up by others. Their egos are in check and they are content.
When I was growing up in a loud, dysfunctional home, I wanted fame and fortune...lots of power, too. As a happy, healthy 44-yr-old, I want nothing more than to give back to society, raise my family, help family and strangers and honor God. My life is great and it's nice replacing chaos with peace and contentment.
God bless these sad souls who are seaching for happiness in all the wrong places (all the wrong ways). I am afraid that our society which apparently is now driven by this sick monster called the media, is headed down a dark path. With sex the sole subject of tv shows, videos, and movies it is no wonder our kids are turning to porn at such young ages. What is next? Look at Cambodia. They have taken the sex industry to a new low, selling their children as prostitues for a buck. Anderson Cooper just did an amazing documentary on the subject and you would be shocked at the number of children sold into sexual slavery there. Don't think it could get that bad here? Think again...remember the tv shows when you were a kid and how all the family could watch them together? Are there many like that today? We can't even watch the Super Bowl without seeing some woman's silicone implant (thanks Janet). I think the best thing to do is really push cable companies for cable choice packages that would allow families to best choose what programming comes into your home. I mean think about it, you are paying for this crap every time you write a check to your cable provider!!
