Hi Sweetie, I think you were looking at a July/06 msg....

I noticed you mentioned pastoral counseling.  This is my 1st time to the boards. I am in the midst of reading Dr Phil's book Relationship Rescue and I'm enjoying it so far.  I was dating someone for 2 yrs.  We both love each other very much.  He is a genuine nice guy.  I thought all the issues were him but have come to realise it is me, my depression, my attitude and insecurities....I could go on and on.  That is not to make him some kind of saint, he has his faults as we all do.  My concern is two fold.  We have officially broken up and had no contact for a few weeks.  I'm wanting to tell him I read this book and I see the wrongs I have committed and want to try again but fear it is too soon and who's to say I can make the changes I see I need to.  I was brought up Catholic but believe a lot of the Christian teachings as well.  I feel like I'm only leaning to my religion to get "fixed" or "find happiness" so I'm always ridden w/guilt and not just getting guidance and solice from religion.  Any words of wisdom re: my best approach to my religion?  Any advise on whether to leave well enough alone and live my relationship in God's hands or contact the man and try.  I understand that ultimately it's God's way anyway, I'm just so lost I do not know where to take all of this.

So happy to find an outlet!

I don't believe he/she are on this site anymore.

You can change your settings to have newest msg first (vs oldest msg first).  Simply click on Profile button above, edit Profile, go to bottom and change from oldest to newest then click submit....  (not cancel etc.,).

Hopefully this helps

And WELCOME!!!!!

Cheers,

G
