04/26 Obsessive Love

Quote From: penny_lady

Part of me wonders if this isn't one of those situation where both parties are getting off on this behavior...she's not ready to leave him?  Part of me wonders if she really likes being the object of his obsession...if she doesn't really like it.

I've been wondering that myself, and then I wonder if she might be scared to leave this guy scares me, I would be concerned about him following her around and doing something worse.

But then something like "she's not READY to leave him " since when did this type of behavior equal LOVE, or did I miss that memo ?

One has to wonder why she's put up with it for so long. And, didn't get out before she had so much invested in the marriage. Especially before having children.

I know a woman in a some-what similiar situation. (Not this bad-I have never know a couple this bad) I think when someone is on the inside looking out-It doesn't seem as bad to us who are on the outside looking in. With my friend, I sometimes find myself losing respect for her for staying with her husband. And I don't want to do that, because I'm her friend. And we get along and she's such a sweet, loving kind person. But, recently HE actually left HER. And lo and behold, she went to where he was staying and he came back home. They physically fight, he half works, he uses drugs, lies,cheats...She says she loves him. I don't get it.

I can't believe you think that. Evidently you or anyone you know has NEVER been in this situation.  Couldn't you see the pain this poor girl was in?  When you have no where to go and no one to help you, you learn to live with it.  It's ignorance and denial from people like you that keep women like her from getting the help they really need. MEN like him should be locked up and the key thrown away. He will NEVER change.
