09/27 Shocking Teen Trends

Quote From: starkitty7

Just a FYI on Adderall:  It is a prescription medication. It is an Amphetamine ( "upper") It is prescribed to children for the treatment of ADHD. This medication is taken recreationally for it's "high". This drug is dangerous when abused- it has a long list of side effects- some which can be life threatening such as high blood pressure and rapid heart rate. Young ppl should know that any medication- prescription or over the counter, can be DEADLY if not used correctly, such as under the directions of a doctor.

thanks for the info. I was just wondering how dangerous it could really be since it is approved by the FDA. Clearly because it is an amphetamine it would be dangerous for those with preexisting heart problems. But for young adults in good health, when used responsibly it seems like it shouldn't pose a health risk.
