09/28 Overmedicating America: The Cruise Controversy
First of all, the brain is not just a hunk of meat! I am not a scientologist. I am not a doctor. I am a teacher. I read time and time again where parents are told by their childrens schools or preschool, that their kids are hyperactive. It is highly illegal for anybody, except a doctor, to make any diagnoses! Tom Cruise spoke out against something he believes to be wrong! He has that right! He happens to be someone who is famous! Does that somehow lessen his rights? If he, being a famous actor, has a voice that people listen to, then more power to him (literally) to speak about what he believes.I agree strongly with what he says. And regarding his voice being somehow tainted because scientology speaks out against these medications - so what? The man is speaking out about something he believes in. Isn't that one of our inalienable rights? It did NOT say in the Bill of Rights that the right of free speech was for those other than famous influential people! Get over it! You don't have to agree! Back to the brain being just a hunk of meat! Are you KIDDING? I suggest you get a book and read up a bit. When a brain is exposed to dangerous mind altering drugs, the damage is done! Yes, when parts of the brain get damaged, other parts have been known to, in some cases, take over. But with these drugs, these very dangerous drugs that destroy and alter brain cells. there's no turning back! And the brain controls the entire body! And as I said earlier, a chemical imbalance cannot be proved..- except in an autopsy! There are definitely medications that are needed, ( seizure control, cough meds, pain, antibiotics, etc....) But these are not the ones that the drug companies are making theri big money of of. ! Cindy!
