Hi Angelgirl !!!!!

Quote From: angelgirl2007

Well, Linda, I'm back again. I have been taking chantix for a couple of weeks,it seems to help, I did go buy 1 pkg. Sat. of last week, was having a stress attack, but at least the pk lasted 4 days, so I am out again and haven't bought any more. So hopefully I wont. I have to break the pills in half because they make me real sick, so at least they will last longer this way. I would hate to have to get a refill because they cost over $100. for 1 months worth.

Hi Angelgirl,

There is desire in your heart to quit no-doubt. Sounds like you really did good for a period of time, KUDOS to you !!! Now you know that the stress you were having last Saturday is a trigger in picking them up again. Work from that. You have the tools to break free of the "chains of smoking". Would it have helped if used nicotine gum, instead of going and buying the cigarettes.  Having the gum or something similar to pop in when a stress attack occurs is guarding yourself against falling off the wagon.  I carried around the nicotine inhaler with me for at least a year after I quit. Never know when something is going to be so strong the urge or a stress factor that you just can't go on without a cigarette. Deep breathing exercises work small miracles too.

Cutting your pills in half, do you think your urge would have been there if you were taking a whole pill at the stress  time ??? Maybe eat more at the time of taking them.  The $100.00 dollars is a bunch for a prescription, but I spent more on the cigarettes in a month. Right now you are smoke-free, work from there. Eat more at the time of the pill, carry around an nicotine inhaler, or gum. You got it going, you just hit a bump in the road, now is the time get back on track.

Linda
