did you even watch the show? melissa is a very smart well spoken young lady who is obviously depressed for good resason.  She had a child at 17 years old and he has a handicap.  Hopefully you don't know wat that feels like. It is easy to see that she puts everyone before her own wellbeing. She was smart enough to ask for help and that makes her very brave.If all you do is watch TV for 17 hours a day yoy need to call Melissa and ask her how she was smart enough and brave enough to go on the Dr. Phil show so she could have a better life for herself and her loved ones.GOD BLESS YOU MELISSA, AND RYAN TOO.

Unless you're physically unable, there's no excuse for someone to do nothing for ten years.  Get out, get a job, do volunteer work, walk, exercise,get an education,  help someone, or even yourself.

people need to leave melissa alone! I was in her postion. I had a baby at 16 and another at 18. I got married 4 weeks after my second and stayed at home with the kids. I was depressed and alone. the only thing there was to do was eat. my husband was a complete jerk. My advice to melissa is get rid of randy!!!! I got rid on my stupid husband and im so much happier! And for anyone to say that melissa needs to take care of her son needs to shut up!! My sons were not autistic and they were so much of a handful! I can't even imagine if they were. Melissa, Dont let people call you lazy! being a mom is more than a full time job! i know exactly how you feel. the whole time i was watching you describe why you gained weight is the same way i feel i did. dont let anyone put you down for that! Being on a diet and taking care of kids dont mix! its hard! Good luck to you and your son!
