11/24 Great School Debate
Quote From: gtrudeauCan you really control this?
- You may not be able to control it 100% but you can come close. Anything is better than the minimal control you have with P.S.
I know what you mean, I get very discouraged when I hear someone speak disparagingly about homosexuals. I guess we just have to make sure our kids know that some people are disrespectful towards others. Teach them not to hate or judge, but be aware that there are people who do hate and judge.
- I do not judge homosexual persons nor do I seek them out for persecution but I believe homosexual sexual acts are immoral and are never to be condoned or accepted. If that is judging somone in your opinion so be it. "- I do not judge homosexual persons nor do I seek them out for

This is the exact kind of sheltering I am talking about...why not let your kids decide these kinds of things for themselves? Especially if you feel your reasoning is so self evident? I sometimes think that those who want to shelter their children this tightly from things like homosexuality, atheism, Pagan religions...etc...do so because their arguments are not based on something solid, or self evident. Other wise they'd be very open to letting their kids figure it out on their own. This is why I am very confident. My view are based on logic, reasoning and evidence as much as I can, I do my best to keep it that way. I am not perfect, but it is something I work on daily. I am sure that if I raise my daughter to look at the world objectively she will learn to not discriminate in anyway. She will see the world as I try to see it on a daily basis.
