I wasn't perfect and I also worked,but you know I never even thought it was anyone else duty to raise my kids, now we live in society of grand parents raiseing grand kids,myself included.
I love my grands very much but I also feel cheated out of grand parent privilages. Boy do I agree with you! My husband and I currently have custody of our 5 yr. old grandson. Mom is not able to take care of him right now because she has borderline personality disorder and at the present time it has 100% control of her. All she can think about is herself and what everyone else can do for her. We have given her over $3,000 this year and she still expects more. She can't hold down a job for more than 2 weeks. Dad is happy being a weekend parent. I love the sweety to death, but I would love it if we could be the "Grandparents" again. I, like you, paid my own way. I just don't understand society today and how people think that society owes them!
