Replies to '09/04 Violent Kids'

I have raised three children all good citizens of my country.  They were not allowed to misbehave. they had bounderies. the mental health of children is that not being disciplined not having bounderies they are lost. wondering around.  they need leadership that comes from parenting discipline teaching them how to do things and making sure they do them. we drug our children today so we dont have to deal with them. I would have loved time outs i had nothing to be taken away we were poor. By the time i chopped firewood for the kitchen stove and the heater and carried it and helped or did the laundry in the wringer washer and hung it on the lines and ironed cleaned house watched my sisters and cooked when mom worked i didnt have time for tantrums or for misbehaviors. i didnt have time to look for trouble. Children today do nothing. play gameboys. talk back. its not adhd it bad manners. its misbehaving children.  i was a strict parent my children didnt dare do the things kids do today. they learned to cook sew iron clean and they played. they are hard working parents.

I have been there myself . I am the father of 4 kids three Boys . My kids are all grown now with children of there on . When  they were young I used the belt maybe  three times on each one of them . After that did not have to I said behave after that they new i was serious. I know in this time they the law would lock be up . THe juvenile justice system  is  full of kids that there parents did not teach them right from wrong when they were young ,I did They are grown responsible adults today all of them . I have 14 grand children an 2 great grand children . All my family love me me them most of all they respect me an there Mother of 46 yrs

I have been in the same shoes as there parents.  I did everything I could to make my child feel special, but he was so violent and angry all the time.  I believe he was misdiagosed with ADHD and the medication did something to him.  When my son was 15, he stopped taken the medication and within a year he was a different person.  Please parents, if your the doctor tells you your child has ADHD, please get a 2nd and 3rd opinion.
