09/10 Season 6 Premiere!

Quote From: bjbuterfli

Distractions, texting, dialing, answering, cell phones. Changing CD's, radio stations, eating, digging in your purse for something. READING. I have seen all and more. I am a driving instructor, teaching mostly teenagers.  In my state a driver on a permit can not use their cell phone while they are driving. But like all adults as soon as they get their license  they can. Our teenagers model after their parents. So do you use your phone? then why won't your teen.

A few months back we lost a teenage girl. Had her license for just over a month.  The phone records show she hit send 30 seconds before she crashed into the back of a large dump truck. Killed her instantly. There was no sign that she ever even hit the brakes. Chances are she  never even saw it.  Sadly several other teens saw it happen.

Wake up people. If you are going to drive then drive. If you need to talk on the phone (or text) pull over.

A teenage girl in Arizona, while texting and driving, killed another young woman on the highway.   The news said she also never touched the brakes, but went over the center line and drove head on into this other woman.   Of course, not a scratch on her.  I wonder if this is the Chelsea that Dr. Phil is talking to?  If not, she definitely needs some work!

and it's not just teens! After using txting with more and more frequency, I found myself, my husband and my friends doing this! We are ALL adults- with no excuse. I made a decision to NOT do this anymore and I haven't. I am urging my friends and husband to do the same. I am going to make him watch this show!

Come on is  this mom for real? Not only would I take the phone, but she wouldnt be driving either. This girl would be dangerous with an eye brown pencil. This mother should be so ashamed for raising this girl to believe she in ALL important. How dare she endanger all our lives because she might not be able  to check on that bart...heres a tip for you mom, Keep her at home, until she can learn that she isn't the only one out there.

Why can't mom take away the car, use the local bus, subway, or any other public transportation and text all she wants too./

I'd be angry with this teenage girl, but she's just getting away with what she can....Its the mom that is being a terrible parent!!!  Show some backbone- you're daughter- and everyone she drives around needs you to step up and take away her cell phone, take away her car and be responsible!!!  This mom doesn't deserve to be a mom if she can't make the hard choices.  Are teenagers easy?  No.  But you're the mom- you made the choice to have children.  Step up and don't make one of our children pay the price for your inability to properly parent.

Just got done watching the show tonight and was aghast at the young lady's atitude. Didn't i just read in the paper that Arnold just signed a law that will make it against the law for teenagers to use text messaging and cell phone usage, but NOT UNTIL NEXT YEAR??????  How about a comment on that Dr. Phil?
