Chewing Ice

Years ago, I worked at a car rental place that had several locations.  One of the girls at another location used to call my office and complain about another girl who worked with her who chewed ice all day long.  One day someone put vinegar in the ice cube tray.  Boy! was the ice chewer surprised!   I don't remember any more complaints after that.

I can't stand it either.   I don't like any kind of crunching sounds anyway.  I usually just pretend I have something to do in the other room.  It does no good to say anything to my husband.  He'll just do it more to aggravate me.

They need more iron

The crunching makes my teeth hurt even if the person is across the room.  Someone told me that people chew ice because of an iron deficiency.  I've suggested to a couple of people and when they started on vitamins with iron they stopped crunching. One of them also craved dirt and charcoal when she was pregnant.

Just Bad Manners

I was taught that chewing with your mouth open was rude and bad manners.  I also can't stand the noise that peopl;e make chewing gum.  I have seen professional people speaking at functions chewing gum while they speak and it is so unprofessional but they obviously weren't taught proper manners as a child at home.  Joan should not be leaving the room but finding ways to teach her children that their behavior is unacceptable in public or at home.  Imagine Dr. Phil chomping on his gum during the show.  I ahve also had people answer the phone while smacking their gum or eating and i just hang up.  I can't stand the noice while trying to have an inyelligent conversation.

Me too!  Whats the etiquette on ice chewing?  Is it bad for the teeth?  I suggest that its bad for the person doing it but I have no proof of that.

Someone chewing ice, chewing their finger nails, chalk screeching, ....... feel really bad about it too.
