Honey, let me tell you............

Quote From: bradboiny

I never said Italians are unattractive, so yes, i'm sure u have a beautiful family.   Secondly, it isn't only the fact I have the nose, but also what I have gone through with it.  Were u and ur children teased horribly about it? From the moment I was born, thats all I've heard about is my big nose, and I think I have a right to change it as I please.  I love Italians and the heritage that goes along with them, I just don't like my actual nose.  What is also not mentioned here is how badly broken it is as well.  Because of its size, i've hit it on EVERYTHING and because of that, my nose is all bent, twisted and turned to the point where I even have breathing difficulties.  This will also be fixed with the surgery.  U say u can't believe people who get the surgery, but if it makes them feel good and confident, then whats the problem? I'm still a proud Italian, with or without my nose.

Honey, allow me to tell you about being teased.  I was born in 1960, first generation in this country.  My parents were only here 10(dad) and 8(mom) years before I was born.  Imagine going to another country and raising a successful family.  That is what I'll say first.  I was teased for my nose, my so-called "sideburns", mustache, thighs, just being Italian.  The boys called me Pele....because of my muscular thighs.  They called me N-word because of my skin.  Bignose, Dego, Wap.  You name it, I was called it.  When I would go home and tell my mother, she would say, "You tell them that you are as American as they are!"  I remember hating the way I looked and wanting so badly to wash the "Italian" off of my face.  Thank God I grew into myself.  I realized long ago that I am not going to be able to change myself and I accepted my nose, muscular legs, tanned skin, big eyes (how do you think I snagged my hubby?).  I just had to bat my eyes at him and I learned how to play up what I have.  You can change your nose....fine.....but you are still going to pass it on with your own kids!!!!
