Part of the reason that incidents like these do take place is the inherent knowledge on the part of African-Americans that they do not receive equal treatment in the courts, school systems, employment and public accomodations. This is not necessarily simply a race issue, it is also an economic class issue.
Regardless; attacking innocent people will not help your cause if what you say is true. I do not believe myself as a white man to be a bigot, however if I was ganged up on by six black men, that might change my view. I have always striven to get along with everyone, no matter what.
Racism is on both sides, if this were not true I could go anywhere in this country and be safe, but that just isn't the case. I think that black folk need to know that not all white folks are out to get them. I think that blackf olk also need to know that our system of government doesn't just treat black folks unfairly. I wonder though if your general consensus is an accurate and honest view. It has been my experience that some black folk will cry racism if they don't get their way which does happen.
I think the real problem lies with parents today, and yesterday. I think we need to teach are children that it is not OK to hate.
