I am a 39 year old black woman and I see color. What in the hell do you see if  you're standing there looking at a human being or the latter. This posting is in response to the lady from Colorado and Dr. Phil's Jena 6 show.  First of all if you move to an area that is 80% white what do you except the tone to be. You stated in your first posting you are not racist but you clutch your purse and cross the street when you see black men in your eye sight. You are just as ignorant as the other 79% that reside in Jena. If you come from a liberal state and move into hell get the hell out. What have you done to improve the standard of living for black people in Jena? You sound OK with your son or children being exposed to this type of ignorance and stereotypical attitudes. You're a great talker. Recently my family and I went to a park in a very affluent area "San Ramon Ca 80% white 20 % other". I had on a sun dress and played basketball with several children of different ethnic backgrounds.  Boy did we have fun! I would love to be a fly on the wall as the children went to their homes and explained how this black mom played basketball with them. As we left I told my family I'd like to purchase a house in that area in 2years or less. I've changed my mind for a couple of reasons. 1. If all affluent blacks move from black or mixed areas where will the role models come from BET or that really cool black family on the TV show that will be canceled within it's first season.

2nd. I felt my color. If you're white you do not understand that statement. You feel like everything you say and do is being judged. I do not have the patience to be that tolerant of Jena's or San Ramon Ca's ignorance. I love my children therefore i will not expose them to small minded people who's sole purpose is to make them feel different or ugly! I just thought of something if 80% of the town is white that could only mean 100% of the employment is controlled by the 80% and we all know how we love too help one another :) Lady from Colorado: just keep clutching your purse your son can't see color and nor will he see you clutch your purse either.

of two quotes you said on OPRAH in 1999-2000. "Never accept NO from someone that's not qualified to give you YES in the first place". Never prepare for what has not happened yet." Those two statements have helped me everyday of my life. Now that you know I love you, you also know we hurt the one's we love.

I could not believe how you continued too harp on should the boys face criminal charges for their actions. I lost count but I think you asked that question 8-10 times over the course of one show. I don't recall one black person saying the "Noose" justified the beating. But anyone with good black or white sense knows the purposed sentence and charges do not fit the crime. What did come up but did not stay on floor was the fact of the tree. The loud out spoken teachers aid confirmed that the school was segregated by choice. Yea right. What choice do the black students have in their education or employment in Jena. Why did the children ask for permission to sit under the tree. Why was the tree so important to the white students. Burn the dam tree and inlist the black green yellow & white children to plant another one. I recall an incident with my then 5 year old daughter; she told me two classmates "White" told her they were sorry but they could not play with her anymore because she was black, We are just sorry and walked away. The teacher questioned me and tried to play it down. I asked the teacher why would my daughter lie about this? She never allowed me to speak with the parents but she told me they denied teaching this hate like mentality in their homes. What most parent's miss is if you continue too say disparaging comments about a particular race your children adopt your views. Say what you mean & mean what you say. Own IT!
