10/29 Parent Trap

Quote From: homestar1

Abstinence before marriage, complete monogamy after. Der.

You gotta admit, God really has a point here.

Think of all the problems that would be avoided.

I think it's rediculous that I am required to take all kinds of blood tests every time I have a baby. HIV, Hepatitis, etc...even though my husband and  I don't have any kind of risky behaviors. But still we have to pay for the tests. We've had three kids. We get totally annoyed by this.

Am I alone? Gosh I hope not.

You are not alone in this thinking, but, sadly, there are way to many dishonest women out there that have created this havoc ! And as someone wisely said before, it gives the good, decent women a bad name !

I am a minister...and I don't know where your quote come from. Where is this in the Bible? "

"Abstinence before marriage, complete monogamy after. " Der.

I can appreciate your anger about this situation, if it come from a place of responding to the child's losses. But how does your comments relate to the child and her loses? Consider the young girl who has lost so much. As a parent, my heart goes out to her. The adults are the problem here.

By the way, the reasons for the tests you mentioned are to protect your children...not to declare paternity. The diseases that the baby is tested for could be acquired in many ways aside from risky behaviors, or infidelity.

You are alone if you believe that neither you nor your husband are human beings who can fall prey to temptation.  We are all imperfect.  Doesn't your God tell you that, too?  Do you think your husband is a perfect being?  How about you?  Or do you think that Christians/Jews/religious people never engage in extramarital affairs?  I believe the numbers speak for themselves...
