Quote From: rinataThose self-righteous bible thumping people drive me nuts!! My son's wife is like that, and we just don't get along.
I am looking forward to seeing how Dr. Phil handles a situation like that. I sure need some tips. You can be sure I'll not miss this show!! Even if I'm not home though, I record it. I've learned so much from the good doc. Love ya, Dr. Phil!!
Geesh, I love how YOU generalize..."bible thumping people." In my 44 years, those who use that term don't like Christians, don't go to church, don't want to follow God's teachings and are quite PREJUDICE!
I bet all we practicing Christians look alike, too!!! :)
.
Did you ever think that perhaps it's YOU who makes a relationship difficult? Perhaps your PRE-JUDGING of CHristians makes YOU difficult to like or get along with. I do believe there are TWO SIDES to things; I would be curious to hear your daughter-in-law's side!
I LOVE God, attend mass weekly, bring Communion to people in nursing homes, lead women's ministries at church and have a very close family who is active in our parish (ushers, altar-servers, etc). We know God's teachings aren't always easy, but His word isn't supposed to be; it's the TRUTH and we are supposed to do our humanly best to follow His teachings. HOPEFULLY Dr. Phil will be insightful and HONEST enough to acknowledge that there ARE some TRUTHS...God's word is TRUTH. So if God's says pre-marital sex is a sin (which He does) than it IS. If He says marriage is for a man and woman, than it IS. The list goes on and on and is NOT popular with atheists, agnostics, secular humanists (I think I just described Hollywood:).
HOPEFULLY the Christian guest on the show will not be arrogant, but I gather from the pre-views that her HUMAN ARROGANCE is why she was selected for the show. She may be correct in following God's teachings, but only God is the judge. She SHOULD hate sin, but she should never hate the sinner.
