My family was not totally happy with my getting married at only 21, but we are still at it after 43 years and horrendious medical problems and it is not over yet. These people need a life. If Dr. Phil helps their relationship I still have to wonder as to how the children will turn out 25 years from now.
So many people, mostly parents, are quoting the bible regarding the Ten Commandments. I just wish people would read the entire bible before they start quoting it. It really worries me that no one seems to remember that the Bible also says, a man and woman should (if need arises) forsake their parents and cling to one another.
Of course overbearing parents do not like that particular verse!! With the help of God we are free to pick our own mates to live with until death do us part. It doesn't say until MOM do us part. A man that is a man will stand up for his wife in all circumstances. If at the time he doesn't agree, which is normal, wait until the two of you are alone and then discuss the matter calmly.
