11/09 Debate Dr. Phil and the Bishop

Quote From: john5544

i am so sick of watching my language so as NOT to offend the africans...NOTE I DON'T say african -americans...i also dont say, white americans or mexican american or italian americans...how dare they try to take the name american ....that designation should be saved for NATIVE AMERICAN.. as for the n-word, i usually do not use it, but, NO AFRICAN will tell me i can not say any word , because THEY are racists.  al sharpton, jesse jackson are the BIGGEST RACISTS of all...just like MALCOM X..and martin luther king jr.  i have not seen the gentleman  you are having on ( i do not have his name in front of me) but i know i've seen him on a couple of programs seems like a good person. but, lets wait and see..a private conversation should stay between the two individuals..should dog have used the n-word thats up to him and his concience..

First of all it's spelt CONSCIENCE! I am a African- American female and in some ways I do agree with you but in other ways I do not. And that is why we live in the United States Of American. You are FREE to say what you want and do as you please  in the privacy of your own home, NOTICE I say privacy of your own home. If you want to use the "N" word or not put the word AMERICANS behind a name then fine thats your choice. BUT dont try to hide what you believe. DON'T make excuses for what you are, and what you believe. When you come OUTSIDE the security of your home stay true to yourself and your beliefs. And dont be moved if others start to scrutinize what you teach and believe in your home. Because diffrences in opinions are what makes the world go round. You are entitiled to be a RACIST if thats what you so choose BUT dont blame others because you choose to be IGNORANT!  Dog said what he said so now he should stay true to what he said dont  backdown now since it has been aired and say " OH, I thought I was cool enough in the African- American community to use that word."     THAT is what I call IGNORANT! I myself dont use that word in my community because I dont support the use of it by ANYONE including my community but thats my choice and i'm sticking to it!

This is in semi support of what you are saying.  I should let you know now that I am a black American woman.  I do think racism is a huge issues on both parts. Black people have their racist comments too and it aggravates me to all heck.  I just want you to know that you cannot categorize any people to any particular lock.  Just because I am black doesnt mean I agree with NAACP or United Negroe College fund.  I think there are poor white people that may need help too so those funds should go to anyone who needs it.  Thats where the Black racism comes in.  I know Black people think that because white people have so much that they need to look out for their own but its still a form a racism. You can't fight fire with fire.  Black supremacy is very much alive in our country.  They think they are helping the black community by raising funds for just minorities but it is separating us even more because we haven't embraced all peoople to join in to get an education.  That has always really bothered me because I have a white friend who could not get into college because she couldnt pay for it and couldnt get any assistance.  Her parents made alot of money but though they weren't going to pay for it.  Any how you need to understand that not everyone thinks the same as you have made us to think.  And you need to get yourself out there more so you can see that its a whole world out there that you don't know about not just what the media portrays.  I truly wish you the best in your life.

I think the main sentence to be heard today is that "it starts at home"  we have to raise our children to respect one another and make the right decisions and like TD Jakes says of course we won't get to every child but we can make a change in our society that matters.
