It is clear that this 18 year old is extremely immature, naive and selfish. She has no responsibility for the outcome of her actions which either way will affect those that love her for the rest of their lives.
It's going to affect her too. Her family's approach to her upbringing has ultimately led to this. So in essence her family is responsible for the effects her actions have had on them. Mom should have done something at 16, then she wouldn't be all upset right now.
