His father knew nothing about what was going on that day. Wade stopped out at thier house and asked for the shotgun to get a Pheasant to train his 5 month old yellow lab pup.  His dad asked if he needed any shells and Wade said no. his dad told him he might as well take the three he had left at the house anyway as he would not use them himself.  NO ONE in Wade's family is scared of him.  Please stop and think about what you are writing before you do it.  This show affects not only the people you see on the show, but also all of the family members.

There is another problem with the gun you mentioned.  First, as you noted, three shells don't make sense.  I thought the mother had two kids, but apparantly she has two sets of twins.  If she had two kids, then I figured 3 would be for her and each kid, but with 5 total people that number really doesn't make sense.

 

Here's the second problem: she said his father gave him a SHOTGUN.  You don't kill yourself with a shotgun - the barrel is too long!
