07/11 What’s Up, Doc?

Quote From: linda7806

I agree, we have a 5 year old boy with this problem and we have tried everything, doctors, different food, toilet training. its been many tears from us and from our son who feel ashamed. We are now waiting  to come to an specialist in this area and its feels great. Find out more before judging and stop writing such stupids things such as that it is something wrong with the parents and the children....its nothing wrong with us or our son....bye bye from Sweden
Yes I agree as well.  I thought my child was the only kid in the world that did this and blamed him for being obstinant only to find out he has a medical condition.  Imagine the guilt I feel, topped off with the fact that he got diagnosed with cancer (unrelated to encopresis) in the midst of the encopresis crisis.  If only the public acknowledged this problem and didn't get so grossed out by a little "poop" that they neglect a huge number of children with a problem.  If only, then I wouldn't have gotten so upset with my 4 year old.  I would have understood it really wasn't his fault.  Thank God that he is in remission from the cancer or I would have had to live with the guilt my whole life of not being an understanding mother, of letting a little poop cloud my love for him.  Shame on everyone that chooses to judge these kids or their parents.
