Quote From: nicki3685i am 22 years old, iam a single mother . my child is 3 years old . she is not yet over weight . but i weigh 331 lbs. iam trying to get my masters degree in nursing and i need help getting this weight off to better myself and set a better example for my child so thats she doesnt become overweight.dr.phil will you please help me. i would greatly appreciate it . I am a 63 year old grandmother; I am very worried about my 4 year old grandson, Josh; there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to get his parents (my son and his wife) to understand or realize what they are doing to their son. He is 4 years old and 75 pounds, asthmatic, tubes in his ears, he has been sick most of his little four years that he has been here; my son takes him to the doctor on a regular basis because he is constantly having health problems. First of all, the asthma -- both parents smoke IN THE HOUSE ALWAYS WHEN THEY ARE HOME!!!!! They wonder why he has so many problems with his asthma; they say that the doctor has told them that their smoking has nothing to do with the asthma problems. I disagree with any doctor that would say something like that. I don't believe that anyway; I think it's a copout so they can do what they want to do and deal with the consequences later when Joshua has to go back to the hospital with a high fever, coughing, can't breathe; etc etc. Last night my son called and said that Joshua had gained another 3 lbs; WELLLL, what else is new. They give him whatever he wants to eat, and most of the time it is sweets, including cola ALL the time. I've never seen him sit down and eat a meal that was healthy. Their life style is not good. Joshua doesn't get enough exercise ; he is in front of the computer OR TV most of the time. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen him trying to play with the other kids and has to sit down and rest a lot; he can't keep up with them although he wants to so bad. What is so bad, is that his mother is getting an LPN license; duh! You would think she had learned something. Also, I have talked to my son so many times about what they need to do; GUESS WHAT? THEY DON;T LISTEN OR HEED MY ADVICE!!! What do I do ? I worry about this constantly!!!
