12/03 Shocking Teen Trends

I was mistaken in my post. The passengers have to be 21, not 18. That would be hard to police. But, the school attendance provision can be policed. Missing ten straight days, or having ten unexcused absenses in a school year, is reported to the Department of  Driver Services. And, the license is suspended until for a year, or until their 18th birthday. Whichever comes last, I presume. My husband and step-daughter were having a time keeping his 16-year-old grandson in school Until they told him he couldn't get a driver's license unless he stayed.
