Dog Clothes

Quote From: duckydes

I always feel sorry for dogs when I see them dressed in human clothes or Halloween costumes.  Poor dogs, they must be so embarrassed!
I take offense to the comment that dogs must be embarrassed in clothes. I have yorkies and mine are dressed most of the time in the cooler months. Yorkies do not have a double coat (with an undercoat) like most dogs. They have a single coat that is hair just like our hair. So they lose much body heat without clothes. Mine wear them and I know hundreds of others who do as well. In fact, my "crockpot" yorkie (figure that one out (as opposed to "teapot")) LOVES clothes so much I have to practically fight her to take them off. They wear jammies at night. It gets very cold and if I don't put their jammies on, they shiver all night.

I doubt they would be embarrassed unless the color of thier clothes clashed with the color of thier fur.

Exactly the same error

You've made exactly the same error the show's "Doggie Mom" is making - attributing human emotions to dogs.  Dogs don't get embarassed, any more than they "say" that they think it's rude for people to ring the doorbell instead of knocking politely.

I can see putting a doggie sweater on a chihuahua when it's the middle of winter and a foot of snow on the ground. Especially when I'd walk him to his best, great dane, friend's house.
