I think that some forms of autisim is genetic. I think my son was born with his. I beleive he has asbergers. I know that my daughter was born with hers. She has apraxia which is a speech delay and never said a word until almost 3. I dont think that you can get autisim I think you have to be born with it and if you get early intervention that is the best recourse. My daughter did and she took speech therapy for 12 years. My son didnt cause he was constantly misdiagnosed.
