01/25 Secrets in the Suburbs

Quote From: julie1418

Morality is pretty subjective. I happen to think it is pretty immoral to call people selfish, non-caring, pigs, whores, etc. simply because they are not living according to YOUR moral code. How is what they are doing affecting YOU at all?

I am not for swinging. In a theoretical discussion, I could give plenty of reasons why I don't think it would be healthy, why it would make me uncomfortable in MY marriage, etc. However, I don't make the rules for everyone else. I don't get to decide what "makes sense" in every relationship. I have seen some "traditional", or what I consider chauvinistic, marriages that make NO sense to me....but hey! If OTHER people are happy like that, it doesn't affect me or my marriage ONE bit.

I am having trouble understanding why people get SO upset when OTHER people step outside their comfort zone or moral convictions.

What they are doing does affect me.  I am talking about the morals of this country.  The world is crashing around us an nobody seems to care.  My kids have to be exposed to everything that is out there.  Don't tell me to keep them in......it's everywhere.  The swinging is just a small part of what is going on.  The television shows, movies, music......all driven by sex.  I am in no way a prude....but I feel that the sanctity of marriage should be brought back to our lives.  These people should not even be married.  They do make a mockery of marriage.  Do swingers really think that  swapping sex with strangers and acquaintances will make them happy....I think that it just makes them DIRTY.  They should spend their $ on a golf membership at a nice country club, instead of a sex club.  What a waste.  They cannot even get good sex at home.  What a shame.
