Ok my friend is a born white American citizen and she married a Mexican here on a work visa. He applied to get his visa renewd but that never happened.after a year he applied to get citizenship and was about to get it the lawer had said it should only take a couple of weeks and then he got arrested for a DUI and got deported that is the story. He had nothing else on his record. Like I said in certain places they are doing everything they can to get rid of as many illegals as possible. They can and do deport people with no record this happens. After arguing with you so much I decided to call the lawer that my friend has and he confirmed all of this

One can not only have a work visa and then jump to citizenship, doesnt happen that way. 

What has to happen is that your friend would have to file an I-130/I-485, it has to be approved.  This would make him an LPR, Lawful Permanent Resident.  If he was illegal, it doesnt matter what was filed he could not become an LPR.  The I-130 could be approved and if another amnesty happened he would already have his date down.

Once you are an LPR, if through marriage, there are two ways to become a citizen, one is in 3 years and that is if you are still married or the other is 5 years and that doesnt matter if you are married or not.  If it was employment based the person would have to wait 5 years.

You story doesnt make sense because you are missing the step of LPR status.  Also if I saw someone that had an attorney for citizenship I would think something was wrong, because people dont normally bring lawyers for something like that.

Also, an attorney would never tell you this information because this person could get disbarred because he is breaking attorney/client privilege.
