Seriously, a gift means so much more to me if it's spontaneous and not an obligation. I know it's cliche, but the little things matter most, like when you're sick and your mate brings you ice cream in bed.
When I was in high school my boyfriend ALWAYS bought my Valentine gift the day after. Usually a box of candy for half price. I wonder if he's still as cheap?
