I agree with you

Quote From: christab

I hope someone steps in on behalf of the children and take them out of that "home" and then charge those parents with neglect and abuse.   Those parents might end up killing those children because their "God" told them they need to be saved.

Why are those people allowed to live like that...WITH children?

I don't know what state this family lives in but I can't believe that Child Protective Services hasn't been contacted regarding the way these children are living. They must be from the South because up North the lack of Heat would have been an immediate concern.  Or maybe they live in New Hampshire... the "Live Free or Die" state.

I feel really sad for these children.

Doesn't this community have child protective services? Doesn't anyone know the unhealthy conditions in which these children live? Where does Dan get the money for his "experiments"? They must be on welfare and food stamps, so why doesn't anyone know about the lack of heat and hot water?

It seems that this smug, self-righteous man does the only thing he can do well--get his wife pregnant. I hope we're not looking at another Andrea Yates situation here.

I feel that's quite extreme. There is no child abuse going on here. Is there some neglect of their needs resulting from all of this? Absolutely...no doubt. But they are a well intentioned, kind and loving family. To be honest it would do those children a great disservice to remove them from that home, put them in the "system" where they could very well end up in a real abusive situation and suffer unspeakable things. Why risk it? This family just needs guidance, and dan needs to listen, and be willing to make the necessary changes. A little waking up and action taking on Dan and his wife's behalf is all that's required here.

Everyone's perspective is different.  From my perspective, parents who spend more time at work than with their children are neglectful.  Parents who let day cares and public schools do the job that they should be doing are neglectful.  Parents who can't manage to stay married to people they chose to marry are neglectful.

Obviously, not having electricity is a problem.  How can the parents get anything done without sticking their kids in front of the TV?  How would they ever find out what Dr. Phil spoke about with Brittney Spears?  For this reason alone,  the Amish and all those who don't use electricity should have their children taken from them and given to the State.

Sure this guy might not be making as much money as the preacher who helps the poor, but he is providing food, water, and education for his children.  If they loose the house then they can live in a tent like the prophet and patriarch, Abraham.  Of course, Abraham was only the father of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, but if the good Christians on this thread had there way, CPS would've taken Abraham's children, if not for living in the tent, then perhaps for being a polygamist.

And to think that Jesus said Abraham will be in the kingdom of heaven.  I have know doubt that many of the good Christians on this list are just waiting for the opportunity to get to heaven and call CPS on Abraham, Moses, and the other righteous men of God who dared to raise their families in tents, and without electricity and running water.

May the children of all those who have financial difficulties and whose religious beliefs don't match our own have their children taken away from them.  Let's just hope that you never fall into that category.

I could not agree with you more.  This man's testosterone level is higher than his IQ and his wife seems enthralled.  I do not blaim the parents, although I think they should have called CPS instead of Dr Phil.

That was my main thought, too.

God forbid those children suffer any more.

I've believed God for a lot of things in my life, but it's

obvious that what that husband/father is doing doesn't

line up with the bible.
